BPC‑157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide originally derived from a protein found in human gastric juice that has shown in preclinical studies to support tissue repair, stimulate blood-vessel growth (angiogenesis), modulate inflammatory responses and increase expression of growth-related receptors in injured muscle, tendon, ligament and bone — although it is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for any human use and clinical-trial evidence remains extremely limited.
